Book covers the community of racing drivers, engineers and modifiers who built up garages and dealers in Kensington, Maryland from 1949. The contents cover the origins of the community and the speed races which began it, developing into automotive and customisation body-shops and later high levels of car modification available for so called 'Hot-Rods', sports cars and stock cars. Chapter 15, (page 357-375) entitled 'Pretty Women', includes details of DB4/1213/L Series V Vantage Saloon, one of a few later DB4's to be fitted with a GT engine without being a DB4GT, which was owned by the author's brother, Douglas Monroe.
