Aston Martin Press Release dated 13th June 1951 describing the Works Team and private entries to Le Mans. Works drivers of Reg Parnell, D. Hampshire, George Abecassis, B. Shawe-Taylor, Lance Macklin and E. Thompson. Also private entries with Peter Clarke and J.Scott; N.H.Mann and M. Morris-Goodall with Maurice Faulkner having a reserve position.
The sign of the times from this release is the mention of altered appearances to the front end of the cars entered, "due to National shortages of materials". The effects of the Second World War were still being felt, six years after its end.
